Susan Burns

Alexandria Area Supervisor

Susan Burns has been the Alexandria Area Supervisor since November 2007. She moved from Indiana but grew up right here in Louisiana, near Monroe. Susan, a graduate of Louisiana Tech and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, holds two master's degrees -- one in special education and the other in human relations and supervision. After teaching for twelve years, she chose to enter management. Susan has been an educational director at an adolescent psychiatric hospital, a human resources director for a company much like GCTFS (in Indiana), and a senior center director. She is a licensed health facility administrator. Besides the nine years residing in Indiana, Susan has lived in Texas for a year and in Alaska for three years. She states the most interesting year of her life was spent teaching in an Eskimo village. She is glad to be back home in the sunny South near family, working for Gulf Coast Teaching Family Services!
