PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Program Director (Houma) is responsible for the management of staff and program services for multiple programs offered by Medicaid and other funding sources, ensuring that program services are in compliance with all licensing and regulatory agencies. This position involves planning, scheduling and meeting program objectives as outlined by the Area Supervisor. The position meets regularly with state agencies, consumers and their families, therefore the Program Director must have a valid, current Louisiana driver's license, current liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle. The position also manages the approved program budgets and takes appropriate action to maintain the fiscal soundness of the programs.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a human service/mental health related field, along with excellent organizational, public relations, verbal and written communications skills. A minimum of two years experience managing staff and in the delivery of services to the elderly and disabled individuals is required. Experience with MS Office, including Word, and Excel is also desired.

DSWs

DSWs needed to work with persons with developmental disabilities and behavior disorders in the Lafourche/Terrebonne/Assumption areas. ,

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Shifts available are mornings, evenings, overnights and week-ends.
  • Pay rates range depending on shift.
  • H.S. Diploma preferred and 1yr. experience is required.

  • Have a valid driver's license, current auto liability insurance, and have access to a reliable vehicle in a safe operating condition with current inspection stickers.

YOUTH TRACKERS/ MENTORS


*Several positions available at GCSS locations throughout the State.

The Part-time and Full-time Mentor and Trackers positions are available.   Responsible for providing mentoring and/or tracking services to high risk youth. Also, responsible for developing meaningful mentoring relationships with each youth assigned, meeting youths needs as they relate to the goals of his/her Individual Treatment/Intervention Plan (ITP/IIP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelors Degree in a human services related field is preferred, with a minimum of one-year experience working with high-risk youth, or a High School Diploma with an equivalent combination of three years experience working with at-risk or high-risk youth. 
  • The position requires a reasonable combination of the following: relationship building and mentoring youth, client advocacy, case management, public relations, and community resource development. 
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, the ability to represent the Agency in a highly professional manner, and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. 
  • Good judgment, initiative, proven ability to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, schedule appointments, and complete all required documentation within the timelines of the contract.
  • A valid Louisiana drivers license, current liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with a current inspection sticker.
