program description
The Basic Center Program assists runaway and homeless youth under 18 year of age and their families in Terrebonne, Lafourche, and Assumption parishes.
The program serves as a community-based center and addresses the immediate needs of runaway and homeless youth and their families through outreach, shelter, food and clothing, individual,
group and family counseling, and aftercare
and referral services. The program assists youth in crisis and seeks to reunite them with their families, or to locate appropriate alternative placements.
The goals are to strengthen family relationships, to encourage stable living environments, and to help youths set plans for the future.
The program seeks to ensure that at least 95% of the youths served enter safe and appropriate settings after exiting the Basic Center. |
