Employment Related Training (ERT) services consist of training and/or paid employment for recipients 18 year old or older for whom competitive employment at/or above the minimum wage is unlikely, and who, because of their disabilities, need intensive ongoing support to perform in a work setting. |
services provided
ERT services include but are not limited to:
- Assistance and prompting in the development of employment related skills
- Employment at a commensurate wage at our facility for a set, or variable number of hours
- Observation of an employee of an area business to obtain information to make an informed choice regarding vocational interest
- Learning how to use work-related equipment
- Learning work-related personal safety skills
- Assistance in planning appropriate meals for lunch while at work
- Learning basic personal finance skills
- Information and counseling on benefits planning and assistance in the process

eligibility
Recipient must meet ICF/DD* requirements:
- Be age 3 years or older and have a developmental disability which manifested prior to age 22
- Meet income and resources guidelines set by the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH)
Program guidelines:
- Recipient must be 18 years of age or older
- Services are limited to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week
- Recipient may be paid by the employment related training provider for engaging in this service, according to federal regulations
