| About Us
Our Mission:
Gulf Coast Teaching Family Services, Inc. (GCTFS)
is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1983 in Louisiana
to provide comprehensive human service programs for Louisiana
citizens, children and adults, with various physical and mental
challenges, including those labeled mentally retarded; developmentally
disabled; brain injured; delinquent; emotionally disturbed;
and mentally ill.
Gulf Coast is dedicated to establishing and operating community-based
service programs providing consultation, training, and educational
services to individuals and their families that promote deinstitutionalization,
integration, and normalization for Louisiana citizens with
special needs. Gulf Coast adheres to the philosophy of unconditional
care in the least-restrictive treatment/placement alternatives.
Gulf Coast responds to community needs by providing high
quality, innovative, effective,
"state

An
Explanation of Our Logo:
|
The logo was a gift to Gulf Coast Teaching Family Services,
Inc. when it was founded.
The circles signify people with their arms
wrapped around one another, helping one another, supporting
one another.
The white sections are filled with thousands
of dots which represent the thousands of people of all races,
colors, and creeds who make up our communities, each person
serving a part to make the community the best it can be, making
each person the best he/she can be.
If everyone puts into their communities their very best and
helps one another to their very best, we won’t need
service providers.
To each according to their need, from each according to their
abilities; the community, the state, the country and the world
would be a better place for all of us who live in it. |
