AREA SUPERVISOR – NORTHSHORE AREA

The Area Supervisor, under the direction of the Central Office, is responsible for the management, development, and operations of all programs in the Northshore Region.

Extensive knowledge of program management, planning and development, multiple funding sources, fiscal management, and public relations is necessary.  Exceptional organizational and verbal/written communication skills are required.

The position also requires a Master’s Degree with a minimum of five (5) years human services experience or a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of seven (7) years human services experience in management and supervision.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – NORTHSHORE AREA

Administrative Assistant opening for the Northshore Regional Office providing support to the Administrative staff.  Will assist administrative staff with clerical needs at the direction of the Area Supervisor.  The Administrative Assistant position requires a strong knowledge of MS Office Programs, database management, and creative composition.  This position requires an individual with a pleasant and professional attitude, solid verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities with accuracy.

High School diploma and a minimum of two years professional experience performing support in a corporate environment required.

FULL-TIME PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF TRACKER/MENTOR SERVICES

This position is responsible for the management of staff and program services contracted through federal and state agencies serving at-risk youth, ensuring that program services are in compliance with all applicable federal and state guidelines. This position involves leading, planning, scheduling, training, reporting and meeting program goals and objectives, using appropriate evidenced based methods as outlined by the Regional Director, and contracting agencies. The Program Director meets regularly with state agencies, at-risk youth and their families/guardians. The Program Director also manages the approved program budgets and takes appropriate action to maintain the fiscal soundness of the programs.

The Program Director is responsible for not only maintaining a high standard of excellence in mentoring and support services to at-risk youth, but also taking initiative to further this goal. The position is responsible for meeting operational goals and objectives, keeping the organization informed of current research and information relevant to the program and working with staff to maintain an ongoing evaluation protocol. The Program Director represents the agency in the community and evaluates special community collaboration opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

  • The position requires a Master's Degree in a related field or a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a human service field.
  • Demonstrated abilities in program management and operations, the development of sound, behaviorally based treatment programs, program management, personnel management, development and implementation of training for staff and clients and counseling, and adherence to ethical/professional standards.
  • Knowledge required in the following areas:  budget development, staff development, property management, client advocacy, public relations, and community resource development. 
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the Agency in a highly professional manner.  Proven ability to organize and prioritize work, and to meet deadlines. 
  • A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle for transportation, and current liability insurance.
  • Experience with MS Office, including Word, and Excel is also desired.

YOUTH TRACKERS/ MENTORS

*Several positions available at GCSS locations throughout the State.

The Part-time and Full-time Mentor and Trackers positions are available.   Responsible for providing mentoring and/or tracking services to high risk youth. Also, responsible for developing meaningful mentoring relationships with each youth assigned, meeting youth’s needs as they relate to the goals of his/her Individual Treatment/Intervention Plan (ITP/IIP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services related field is preferred, with a minimum of one-year experience working with high-risk youth, or a High School Diploma with an equivalent combination of three years’ experience working with at-risk or high-risk youth. 
  • The position requires a reasonable combination of the following: relationship building and mentoring youth, client advocacy, case management, public relations, and community resource development. 
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, the ability to represent the Agency in a highly professional manner, and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. 
  • Good judgment, initiative, proven ability to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, schedule appointments, and complete all required documentation within the timelines of the contract.
  • A valid Louisiana driver’s license, current liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with a current inspection sticker.
